Serving Christ in Siberia Welcome to ColdKerins.com, our attempt at bridging the gap between North America and Central Siberia! While the temperatures in Central Siberia can drop to as low as minus 70 degrees, our hearts are warmed by the passion of our Russian brothers and sisters in Christ. God is working through the Russian church and we're excited to partner with them in planting churches. |
From atop the Towers in Tokyo - April 2003 |

| About one third of Ulan Ude's total population of 450,000 are Buryats. There are approximately one million Buryats in Russia and Mongolia, but fewer than 100 of them have a personal relationship with Christ. Most Buryats are Tibetan Buddhists and as of June, 2002, there is no established Buryat church. Their ancestors originally migrated to Russia from Mongolia located just south of Russia's border. For more information on the Buryat people, please check out the Helpful Links section of our web site. |
| Before arriving in Ulan Ude, we'll be focused on language learning in Khabarovsk, Far East Russia. We plan to start two years of language study there in January, 2003. Until then, we are serving in our local church, learning culture and language, making preparations for departure and working on ordination.
